La Fontana Town Center

David, Republic of Panama

Client: Anguizola Family / Grupo Miro

Moule & Polyzoides has been privileged to work with the Anguizola family over an extended period of time as they develop their extensive land holdings into new neighborhoods and districts in and around David, Panama. This 100-acre district is organized around four programmatic elements: a main street, a medical quarter, an education quarter, and a residential quarter. Inspired by the grid of Savannah, Georgia, each of La Fontana’s quadrants is centered around large public squares. Streets and parks are planted with a lush palette of colorful, tropical flora. A park-once strategy accommodates the parking requirements of the commercial uses and produces a rich, walkable environment. Buildings are arranged on a perimeter block system and designed to generate a balanced building fabric and public realm.
