Los Poblanos Inn & Organic Farm

Albuquerque, New Mexico

Client: The Rembe Family

Moule & Polyzoides worked with the Rembe Family to develop a preservation, development, and hospitality strategy for their 2,500-acre farm adjacent to the Rio Grande. Los Poblanos Ranch includes historic structures designed by noted New Mexico architect John Gaw Meem, which Moule & Polyzoides transformed into the core of an expanded country inn and meeting center. To preserve the site’s integrity, two-thirds of the estate was preserved as an agricultural trust, while the twenty new guest rooms and casitas are condensed in a Southwestern compound form. Sustainable measures include the preservation of an existing acequia irrigation network, green specifications, sustainable agriculture, and support for agritourism. Los Poblanos Organics supplies all produce to the Inn and to outlets throughout Albuquerque, continuing the estate’s farming traditions.
