Neff Ruppel Offices

Pasadena, California

Client: Moule & Polyzoides

Moule & Polyzoides rehabilitated the former studio of noted architect Wallace Neff and local builder Frederick Ruppel into our own office. The Spanish Colonial Revival structure, dating to 1927, was seismically stabilized and renovated with entirely new mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and lighting systems. The design takes advantage of daylight and natural ventilation, while heavy masonry walls provide high insulation values and passive heating and cooling. Our office, which combines historic architecture with contemporary technology, is an everyday reminder of our mission to realize a more livable and sustainable future through the lessons of the past.
