Hotel Plaza La Reina

Westwood, California

Client: 10844–52 Lindbrook Drive, Inc.

Located in historic Westwood Village, Plaza la Reina is a 44-room residential hotel organized around a common courtyard above a retail ground floor. The building’s stepped massing helps transition the historic two-story court to the east with a 23-story office tower to the west. The east alley is transformed into a beautifully landscaped lane leading to the garage entrance, minimizing the impact on pedestrians and keeping the frontage on Lindbrook Drive uninterrupted. Live-work units line the new lane, complementing existing entry stoops on the other side. The building is articulated in massing and scale to read as two structures, creating a stylistic variety that harmonizes with the rhythm of Westwood Village’s traditional architecture and urbanism.
