St. Andrew Community Facilities Project

Pasadena, California

Client: St. Andrew Church

The Saint Andrew Parish is the second oldest in the Los Angeles area, and its 1927 church (modelled after Rome’s Santa Maria in Cosmedin in Rome) is a landmark of Old Pasadena. A new 25,000 square-foot multi-purpose facility accommodates the rapid growth of the school and ministries and facilitates the church’s ongoing social activism and community service. The varied program includes a gym, chapel, meeting rooms, and new parish offices, all of which are organized around a cloister and courtyards. Across the street from the existing church, this project establishes an identifiable St. Andrew campus that fosters civic and spiritual rejuvenation.
