Los Patios de Cordova is a 21-unit multi-family residential project located on a corner site at the edge of a residential neighborhood in central Pasadena. The project is designed per the City of Gardens Standards that prescribe every building over four units to be a court.
In response to its corner site, and to save existing trees on the property, the project is not designed as a typical symmetrical court, but rather as an āLā-shaped building with a courtyard opening towards its southern neighbors. Parking is subterranean and accommodated under the building, thereby creating a lush courtyard above. Units, both flats and townhomes, are entered directly on the ground level from this courtyard. At the upper levels, all units are accessed from a corridor via an elevator. The project is broken into distinct masses to create the image of an ensemble of buildings and is designed in the best traditions of the Mediterranean style typical of the region.
