Dunstan Way is 49-unit courtyard housing project located on a one-acre site in the Brentwood District of Los Angeles. Constructed over a 125-space subterranean parking garage, the Mediterranean-style complex is organized around two major internal court­yards, a community room and a pool, which provide both private and public outdoor space for residents. An outdoor fireplace is the focal point of the north courtyard and the southern court features a water fountain.

Tucked between neighboring structures on the north and south sides, a prominent entry­way on the west provides access to the long and narrow site. Units bordering the court­yards are primarily two and three stories, increasing to four stories on the eastern edge, offering views of the adjacent park. With heavy timber balconies, terra cotta tiles and pavers, metal railings and stuccoed walls the project’s materials, style and varied massing complements the project’s Southern California heritage.
