In this Center for Creative Land Recycling video, local residents share their own perspectives about redevelopment of Hunters Point in San Francisco. Moule & Polyzoides designed two blocks of urban infill for the project’s master plan, which includes Candlestick Park and the former home of the Hunters Point Shipyard in San Francisco. Until 1974, Hunters Point was a major source of jobs for the community, but when the Navy closed the shipyard, residents and businesses left, leaving abandoned properties and contaminated sites. The redevelopment project will revitalize the area, transforming it into a thriving neighborhood with new homes and parks and bringing back jobs for local residents.
